About Digital Collections
The University Library Digital Collections feature historically significant documents, photographs, oral histories, artistic works, and exhibit materials selected from the University Special Collections and Archives. Additional contributors include local heritage organizations, other academic institutions, and private collectors. On the Digital Collections homepage, the collections are organized into four broad categories, or tabs: Campus History, Local Communities, Society and Politics, and Arts.
The materials presented within the digital collections database do not necessarily represent the entire contents and contexts within the archival collections from which they are derived. To mitigate this, item descriptions may include the archival collection names and links to their associated finding aids. Researchers are strongly encouraged to extend their inquiries into the collections of the University Library Special Collections and Archives as well as those held by participating institutions as indicated within the metadata accompanying the online materials.
Copyright
The items in our Digital Collections are made available for educational purposes. Commercial use of works that are not in the public domain is strictly prohibited by law without prior written consent from the copyright holder(s). The responsibility for the use of these materials rests exclusively with the user.
We look forward to learning more about our digital holdings, and to hearing from any copyright owners who may not be properly identified. If you have any additional information about our collections, or if you would like to suggest a correction, please contact the Library Webmaster.
Accessibility
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), staff apply accessibility processing to new items published in the Digital Collections database. We are retroactively addressing needs for previously published materials. CSUN researchers can report access issues regarding digital collections materials they encounter.
