2020 BLM Protests in LA

The entire planet was forced to confront a worldwide pandemic unlike any that had been experienced in the previous 100 years. Hopefully, the visitors to this exhibition will leave with a better understanding of why people would risk their lives during a deadly viral pandemic to confront an unjust social pandemic.

San Gabriel Mission Playhouse

The historic San Gabriel Mission Playhouse was constructed in 1927 for The Mission Play, by John Steven McGroarty, which told the story of the California Missions. In 1945, the City of San Gabriel purchased the playhouse and became a center of arts and culture in the ‘The Mission District’. This collection was digitized as part of the L.A. as Subject Digital Residency Program.

Hometown Heroes: Girl Scouts of the Crescenta Valley

Hometown Heroes:Girl Scouts of the Crescenta Valley Collection contains scrapbooks, photographs, and instructional materials which documents Girl Scouts in Glendale, California. This collection was digitized by Ambassador Girl Scout Annie Brundige for her Gold Award with the support of the L.A. as Subject Digital Residency Program.

John Broesamle Interviews

In 1993, Professor John Broesamle published Suddenly a Giant: A History of California State University, Northridge. This collection features many interviews with administrators, faculty members, and alumni that he conducted as sources for the work.
