Description"Carpa Clash" was written by Culture Clash as a tribute to United Farm Workers leader Cesar Chavez, using the tradition of a "carpa" or Mexican tent show, to tell their story. They play was performed at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. The Latino/Chicano comedy troupe Culture Clash began on Cinco de Mayo, 1984 at René Yáñez's Galeria de la Raza in San Francisco, California.
