Application - Knights of the Ku Klux Klan
TitleApplication - Knights of the Ku Klux Klan
DescriptionThis is an application form for the Ku Klux Klan from the 1920s. The heading reads "Imperial Palace; Invisible Empire; Knights of the Ku Klux Klan (Incorporated)." On either side of the heading are matching illustrations of a KKK member on horseback, in full Klan regalia: white hood and robe, with the horse similarly bedecked. The form begins as a letter, reading: "We have been requested by one of your personal friends to get in touch with you." It goes on to ask a series of 20 questions, including: "Are you a Gentile or a Jew?" "Do you believe in the principles of a PURE Americanism?" "What is your religious faith?" and "Do you honestly believe in the practice of REAL fraternity?" It then asks for a signature, address and telephone number. 11 x 8.5 in.
