America First, Last, and All The Time
TitleAmerica First, Last, and All The Time
DescriptionThis handbill was created to advertise the weekly meetings of the Friends of Progress, a group with fascist leanings whose members nonetheless proudly touted their belief in free speech and truth. Speakers at these gatherings, held at the Embassy Auditorium, included "Friends" members Robert Noble and Ellis O. Jones (who would one day find themselves among the defendants in the Great Sedition Trial of 1944, also known as United States v. McWilliams). The handbill states: "Don't believe rumors about our Patriotism -- newspapers have painted grotesque stories -- Which are NOT true!" 9 x 6 in.
