| Description | Jack B. Tenney was a California senator during much of the 1940s and early 1950s. Also known as "California's McCarthy," Tenney was a leader in the "anti-subversive" movement and, for a time, the head of the state's Un-American Activities Committee. (Interestingly, he was also a musician, and the composer of Gene Autry's hit song, "Mexicali Rose.") This item is a campaign sticker distributed during Tenney's unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate in 1944.
