DescriptionThis still from Warner Bros. 1939 picture "Confessions of a Nazi Spy" is from a scene in which George Sanders, as Nazi officer Franz Schlager, informs his disciples that the Third Reich's spies have successfully infiltrated the U.S. Sanders stands behind a desk, surrounded by 3 men in the uniform of the Third Reich. Behind him hangs a banner which bears a swastika and reads: Ein Volk / Ein Reich / Ein Führer. This film is widely regarded as the first anti-Nazi motion picture produced in Hollywood; it was based on the writings of Leon G. Turrou, the FBI agent who infiltrated the activities of the Nazi underground in this country. 8 x 10 in.
