This statement, issued by the Sociology Department of San Fernando Valley State College (now CSUN), conveys the department's conviction that the war in Southeast Asia is detrimental to the educational process. The department further expresses its opinion that students who participate "actively and peaceably" in the anti-war movement should be supported by the faculty and by the college, suggests that they be allowed to complete course work via alternative methods, and requests that the U.S. government withdraw troops from southeast Asia.
