Description	"The Time of the Furnaces" by Earl Anthony documents one of the major events in the history San Fernando Valley State College (SFVSC, now CSUN). On November 4, 1968, a group of black athletes and Black Student Union activists at SFVSC seized the fifth floor of the Administration Building with demands for educational reform and an end to perceived racism in the Athletic Department. The "November 4th Incident" divided the entire community, including students, faculty, and administrators. Ultimately, 24 students faced trial on charges including conspiracy, kidnaping, and assault. Book, 8.5 x 6 in.
