Description	This cartoon of "The Freshman" ran in the Daily Sundial, campus newspaper of San Fernando Valley State College (now CSUN), on Sep. 15, 1964. It depicts the freshman as worn and weary from the travails of registration (by the sling and the "knarled hand"), trying to hard to fit in (the cigarettes), and not quite ready for it all (the apron strings).
