Chinese Ambassador Chai Zemin and President of California State University, Northridge (CSUN) Dr. James Cleary sit for a casual conversation. Chai was the first of China's representatives in the United States (1979-1983). His political activism began early and he entered China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1960. This image represents early contact between CSUN and China which share a long and prosperous history.
