Security officer Daryl Boid guards the perimeter of the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) parking structure at the corner of Zelzah Avenue and Plummer Street. The structure, which became symbolic of the truly remarkable damage that can occur in a seismic event, was slated for demolition following the Northridge earthquake which rocked the area on January 17, 1994. The location of this structure was about 3 km from the quake's epicenter. Black and white photograph, 4.5 x 6.5 in.
