"Van Nuys, born as a town site on Washington's Birthday, 1911, is located in almost the exact geographic center of the great San Fernando Valley, its position being similar to the hub of a wheel with sixteen other friendly neighboring communities surrounding it on the rim. Recent survey indicates the present population center of the State of California to be at Van Owen andd Van Nuys Boulevards, Van Nuys. The city of Van Nuys, with a population of well over 100,000 comprises over one-fifth of the entire Valley's growing population." Published and Distributed by Columbia, Hollywood, CA.
