Oral history interview with Anna "Queenie" Billings of Chatsworth, conducted December 13-14, 1978. In the interview, Billings [born in 1903], shares some of her remembrances of Chatsworth in its early days [circa 1903-1930] including: her family and life as a child growing up in Chatsworth [her maiden name was Graves], ranching in Chatsworth, Sunday picnics and her grandmothers' [Chatsworth pioneer Anne Johnson], Graces & Hill General Store [her father was part owner], schooling in Chatsworth and the Valley, Jess Graves [her brother], water, crops, the construction of the Southern Pacific Railroad tunnel through the Santa Susana Pass and an accident in the tunnel, recreation at Stoney Point, the Spanish-speaking population in Chatsworth, encounters with wildlife [deer, bears, bobcats], childhood antics, home economics, her move to Newhall after her second marriage, church/Sunday school, Joaquin's Ranch, Browns Canyon, Twin Lakes, and the filming that was done at Iverson's ranch. The oral history interview was conducted by Ava Kahn, a student at California State University, Northridge with Billings at her home in Gazelle, California.
