Motorists lining up along Orange Street during Green Tag Day--a merchant sale promotion in the business district of Glendale, August 1952. The motorists are waiting for a chance to parking in lots where they can park for a longer time than at the meters on the street. The city of Glendale's Planning Commission began a project to look into motorist congestion and parking problems as a result. From this, they constructed several new parking lots to help alleviate the parking congestion. Photographer: Glendale Independent. Black and white photograph, 4 x 7 in.
