The Social and Public Arts Resource Center (SPARC) was founded in 1976 by muralist Judith F. Baca, painter Christina Schlesinger, and filmmaker Donna Deitch to produce, preserve and conduct educational programs about community based public art works. Max Benavidez, the director of SPARC's Chicano Mural Documentation Project, wrote this letter the Frank del Olmo asking for his help in spreading the word about his work. Frank del Olmo was born in Los Angeles, California on May 18, 1948. After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), del Olmo entered California State University, Northridge (CSUN) to study journalism. He joined the staff of the Los Angeles Times in 1971, and served as its associate editor until his death in 2004. 11 in. x 8.5 in.
