The East Los Angeles mural photographs were taken to accompany a series of articles written by del Olmo while he was working as a staff writer specializing in Latin American affairs for the Los Angeles Times. Frank del Olmo was born in Los Angeles, California on May 18, 1948. After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), del Olmo entered California State University, Northridge (CSUN) to study journalism. He joined the staff of the Los Angeles Times in 1971, and served as its associate editor until his death in 2004. 8 in. x 10 in.
