The Mexican American Movement's Annual Convention of 1947 took place in the Edison Building in Los Angeles on November 23. The Supreme Council of the Mexican-American Movement was created in 1945 to "improve, social, educational, economic and spiritual conditions among Mexican-Americans and Mexican people living in the United States of America" (Articles of Incorporation, 1945).
