This is a collection of letters between Dr. James E. West, Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America, and Warren Weston of the Militant Christian Patriots. The correspondence began when Mr. Weston wrote to Dr. West to protest the fact that a Jew (well-known radio comic Joe Penner) had been invited to perform at the Boy Scouts Court of Honor that year. Weston stated: "The majority of Boy Scouts are Christian boys and should therefore be surrounded by everything Christian." These letters detail the conversation that ensued between the two men, with West trying to convey to Weston that the Boy Scouts "respect the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion." 8 x 5.5 in.
