Description	The main headline of this April 1944 edition of William Kullgren's newspaper "America Speaks" reads: "Dies Demands Trial of Author of 'Under Cover'". ("Under Cover" was a popular book of the day, chronicling the activities and findings of John Roy Carlson, a journalist who posed as a fascist in order to infiltrate U.S. fascist organizations. Representative Martin Dies of Texas called upon the Department of Justice to try Carlson on charges of sedition.) Other articles in this issue are: "Luce Called High Priest of New Deal Smear Gang" (referring to Henry Luce, co-founder of Time Magazine), "Smear Brigade Setting Stage to Keep Roosevelt In", and "Representative Rankin Asks Winchell Probe Be Pressed; Plot Charged" (referring to an assertion that columnist Walter Winchell was involved in a plot to overthrow the government). 15.5 x 11 in.
